Whether you are performing at the Preview or not, please support the Preview Party & the 2010 festival by mentioning us on your website, Facebook or Twitters or in your weekly/monthly mailings. We would be happy to supply you with a little blurb to include. Email: cskrouse@aol.com & I will send you something immediately.

Though the roster for the preview is pretty full, we would love it if you would come and “Represent”. Anyone "in the book" gets into the Sunday, November 22, 2009 Preview Party for free as long as they RSVP. Show the media and sponsors that the artists support CPF and want it to happen in the spring — and beyond!

Join our Facebook and MySpace pages and Twitter feed and help us build them. Talk to people about Chicago Pop Festival. Get them to visit the website and get on the mailing list, Facebook page & Twitter feed. Numbers and stats count big time to the media and sponsors.

Come to one of Dean’s book signings or invite Dean Milano to do a "mini book signing" at one of your gigs, so he can pass out some groovy bookmarks.

Please encourage ticket sales for the November 22, 2009 party. This will help us in MANY ways:
- Saying the event is SOLD OUT would be an EXCELLENT springboard to sponsor and media support.
Since we have a number of musicians and guests, and are inviting lots of media and sponsors, so really only a limited number of general public tickets are available. Encourage people to purchase a ticket and secure their place. If half as many come day of show as have told us are coming, we will run out of space. Buy tickets and ensure you have a space AND a book reserved
- We can also only order food for confirmed sales/RSVP’s, so if everyone buys tickets at the door, we’ll run out of food.
- Obviously, we need the money and so do our appointed charities.

A few Updates and Reminders
We will send a letter out this week with the backline listed and the schedule for the day, including time for sound checks.
Everyone coming to sign books should be there at 12:45pm. We need you ready to rock when doors open at 1:00 pm.

Tickets are on sale for the November 22, 2009 party at the Abbey Pub (3420 W. Grace St,, Chicago, IL) (1:00 – 6:00pm). Admission to the public is $20 (which includes a great food spread) and $40 with The Chicago Music Scene: 1960′s and 1970′s book included. The book normally retails for $21.95 plus tax and shipping.

In order to encourage advance sales tickets will be $25 at the door, so you can save some bucks by purchasing online. Advance purchase is encouraged for two reasons 1) we have to order food for everyone 2) we only have so many tickets we can sell with so many musicians, sponsors and media invited, so it’s best to secure your place now.

& click on the link to the Brown Paper Tickets site in order to make your purchase. There are several buttons on the website, including on the party page under Events.

Musicians who are in the book get in free and their guests need only pay a discounted ticket price of $12 to cover the food. We will need the names of the musician’s guests in advance so we can put them on the list for the reduced price tickets at the door.

PLEASE NOTE: WE NEED ACTUAL NAMES! Anyone can say I’m with ___, so we need you to tell us who your guests are by name so we can put them on the reduced price list at the door.

Any musician who is in the book qualifies for a free copy, however there are a limited number of freebies, so the first musicians arriving at the party will get those copies.

The Chicago Music Scene Book Launch / Chicago Pop Festival Preview Party is to celebrate Dean Milano’s book by bringing it to life.

The Preview portion of the party will explain the mission and give a taste of things to come at Chicago Pop Festival, which is being rescheduled for the spring – late March or April 2010.

THE CHICAGO MUSIC SCENE BOOK LAUNCH / CHICAGO POP FESTIVAL PREVIEW PARTY
The Agenda at the party will consist of:

Book signing
The First Ever Gloria-Off Battle of the Bands
Chicago Pop Festival Preview, consisting of a handful of representative acts from Chicago Pop Festival
Introduce the Mission and Charities to the press, sponsors and public
Reveal the date and location of Chicago Pop Festival 2010
Wind up with The Chicago Pop Festival All Star Jam

The acts for the Pop Festival Preview will be a selected representation of the different genres involved in the Chicago Pop Festival.
