Family & friends are sponsoring a celebration of the life & times of Gregory "GINGER" Glovacki.

Due to lung & liver cancer, Ginger recently passed on.  Greg was the Stage/Production manager

at the Vic Theater & numerous other venues for years.

Live music all thru the day!!

Some of the bands include members of Chevere, Michael McDermott,

Betsy and The Boneshakers, Jill Watson Kellogg, Bill Archers Big Fun, Pete Special Band,

The Country Doctors, Battlestation & Dirty Dan Bucks Cool Rockin Daddies and more!

Special guest MC’s , Johnny Mars (WXRT), Buzz Kilman (ex Loop)

and Pat (Lenny Pinkus/Jerk Johnny) Brennan!

Raffles, cash bar, food & friends.

$10 donation, all proceeds will go to his bills & the remainder to the

hospice care group that took care of Greg in his final days.

Chevere is Chicago’s leading Latin/Jazz/Funk/Blues Band, mixing Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Jazz, Blues, and just about everything else together into an exciting and unique collage of sound. Characterized by high voltage percussion and compelling original compositions, Chévere has performed in and around Chicago and the Midwest for 30 years.

The band has played many large outdoor festivals, including several appearances at The Chicago Jazz Festival and Summerfest. The core of the band has stayed together for over 25 years, giving the band an almost telepathic ability to interact spontaneously onstage. The band has an impressive array of virtuosic melodic soloists, and the percussion section, deeply rooted in traditional folklore and religious music from Cuba, the Caribbean, and Brazil, is heavily featured on almost every tune.

It was unseasonably cold and due to circumstances beyond our control we arrived after the Bobby Lewis Sextet had already started. However, the music warmed us up so much that we just stayed in our "car clothes"! We DANCED too and that helped. There was a wild half moon directly above which kept us all in a surreal state which originated from the fantastic LIVE JAZZ on stage!
